On Feb 28, 2014, ESOA members Ed Nalley, Tom Dixon, and Bill Stynetski participated in a full day FCCLA student project judging event at the IrvingConvention Center. This was a great opportunity for ESOA to interact withlocal high school students, by providing coaching on interviewing skills and basic project management.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12. In the past this organization was known as Future Homemakers of America and Future Farmers of America. Years ago the two organizations combined and FCCLA is the result. FCCLA Mission
To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for lifethrough: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

ESOA has a 5 year tradition of working with the Soup Mobile http://www.soupmobile.org/ in helping to feed the homeless in Dallas.Once each year we volunteer to prepare the food at the Soup Mobile commissary, load the truck, and man the serving line to help feed thehomeless.
